Enjoy a break from climbing as you gradually descend along a creek.
When you come to this clearing, take the left fork for the Ranger Trail.
At the junction, stay right to head up the Ranger Trail. The left trail, the E.M. Greenman Trail, also takes you to Green Mountain's summit, but does not allow dogs to the summit.
Bear Peak to the south.
Once on the summit, spin around to the west for views of the big mountains. Indian Peaks Wilderness is on the left, Rocky Mountain National Park (including Longs Peak) to the right.
